Go Cowboys!

Yesterday started out to be a great day but ended not so good. OSU ended up losing to Houston and Brayden got the stomach bug. But before the game started I gave the kids a bath and got them all ready to go in their OSU attire. By the way....the cute little shirt Brayden has on was his Daddy's when he was a little boy. Payten wore it too when she was little, so I am going to have to go back and see if I can find some old pics and post all three of them wearing it.

Chris, Jennifer and Cole came over for the game. We made taco soup and Jennifer brought over her amazing and 100% calorie free chocolate brownies. They were sooo yummy! We had a great time playing and watching the game....I just wish the Cowboys could have gotten their act together and played better. Below are lots of pics from the day....enjoy! My favorite kids....as I always say! I made them sit down and take a couple pics after getting out of the bath tub. They didn't last too long.....especially Brayden who is now crawling and moving constantly!!!! And then Daddy had just grilled hot dogs on the grill and Payten was begging for one. That little girl loves hot dogs, just like her daddy! Ready....set....hut! He was in his football stance quite a few times during the game. I thought he looked pretty cute and he was ready to take down the U of H football team. Don't you think he could take someone down?? My little cheerleader! She was really cheering for the Cowboys yesterday...but somehow all the cheering she did for them didn't seem to help! :) Here is Brayden waking up from his afternoon nap. He took a good two hour nap which was nice because I got to lay on the couch and relax during the game. He is now always standing up holding onto his crib when I come and get him from sleeping. He is usually yelling at me.....he can't talk yet but I know what he is thinking.....MOM!!! Hurry up and get me out of here....I am ready to PLAY!

Brayden is 9 months.....

AND INTO EVERYTHING!!!! Brayden Matthew is 9 months old and weighs 18 lbs 13 ounces and is 30 1/2 inches long. He is 25-50% in his weight and 100% in his height! He is one tall little man.....but that is fine by us. He is growing up and learning so many new things. The day he turned 8 months he decided he was going to crawl and everyday he gets faster and faster. He loves to take off and chase his sissy. He is now pulling up and loves to stand! He is finally getting better balance. For the longest time we called him Mr. Wobbly because he would always stand there and wobble back and forth, but not anymore. He loves to clap his hands and does it all the time. We sing a clap your hands song and he just starts clapping away. He gets so proud of himself. Also on the day he turned 8 months his two bottom teeth decided to come in. You can see them pretty good now. I love it when he smiles and his teeth show. This past week he has had a runny nose and cough and just a little fussy. I took him to the doctor for his 9 month checkup thinking he could possibly have an ear infection but to my surprise his ears were just fine. Later that day we went to pick up Payten from preschool and got there a little early so me and Brayden were in the lobby just playing and he leaned back and opened his mouth and I couldn't believe it....all four of his top teeth were coming in! They had already broken the skin and were coming through. How did I miss that??? So him being a little cranky and not feeling well made total sense now. I would be cranky too if I had four teeth coming in all at the same time.

Brayden loves to crawl around and get into everything. I have had to move most of my decor that was sitting low to the floor or on the floor up out of reach. There were candle sticks in front of the fire place and that would be the first thing he would go to if I sat him down in the living room. I don't know what it is about babies and loving to play with things they are not supposed to play with.
I love this stage that he is in right now. He is such a sweet heart and one thing is for sure his mommy loves him so much! And I think I know a few more people that love him too.

Payten's first day at preschool

Payten started the 4 year old preschool program this past Tuesday and loved it! When I got her up that morning she was saying that she wanted to stay with me and Brayden, but I told her that she was going to make lots of friends and would have lots of fun.... and of course mommy is always right! Her teachers are really nice and at the end of the week I was talking to Mrs. Sylvia and she told me that Payten was such a sweetie, listened very well and was a very bright young girl. That made me so happy to hear. Payten told me that she really liked her teachers and she liked preschool!!!! One of her afternoon classes is dance.....it is a class you have to pay seperate for because they actually have a dance teacher come in and teach. She will have two recitals this year. I couldn't help myself so I came and sat outside the class and got to take a couple pictures of her first dance class. It was so precious to watch her in there with all her little friends and learn about dance. I know that we are going to have a great year ahead of us!

Oklahoma Trip September 2009

Labor Day we headed back to our roots....the good old state of Oklahoma for a fun filled time with family and friends. Jennifer and I drove back a few days earlier than Matt with all three kids and surprisingly everything went great. I got to spend a couple extra days with my family and then got to see one of my very best friends Lacie. While we were visiting we got to go to the OSU vs Georgia game which was awesome. I am really excited about football season this year! Payten got to spend lots of time with her cousins Kennedi, Cole, Hailey and Calla. Payten and Brayden had a blast at Meme and Papa's house. She got to ride 4 wheelers and ride horses with "BuBrad" and she also got to swim in the "hot pool" as she calls it. She also had lots of fun with GG and Grandpa Mike. We got to go feed the cows and she loved that. Overall the trip was great and once again went by super fast. We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family!!!
