My funny kiddos!

I just wanted to post some recent pictures of Payten and Brayden. As you can see below my kids are not lacking in the fun department. We are always having fun around our house....except for when the little women has missed her nap. :) When Payten's not happy....no one is happy! haha (no seriously) Anyway, Payten and Brayden are growing up so fast. I wish time would slow down just a bit. Payten is working on being four years old and Brayden is 11 weeks, almost three months old! I have the best kiddos in the world and the funniest.

Here is Payten right before preschool the other day. They had "Silly Sock Day". They were learning the letter S. She was super excited to wear something silly and fun. She loves preschool and is learning so much. She can tell you the difference between crocodiles and alligators and can count to 10 in spanish....and neither one of those things did she learn from me. The other night Matt and I were watching the show Survivor and they showed and alligator. I asked Matt what the difference was between an alligator and a crocodile and before he could answer Payten says, "Alligators live in fresh water and crocodiles live in salt water". She told us she learned it in science class. Next year she is enrolled in Spanish and Art. Oh, and she got an award the other day for being the best artist in her class!! Her teacher told me that Payten is the only one that takes her time during art and always colors in the lines. :)
Brayden is such a happy boy. He is smiling and just starting to laugh a little. Not a big laugh...but he kinda coos when he smiles. It makes me so happy. He is so laid back and it is soooo nice!!!! He likes to be held, eat, and sit in his bouncy/vibrating seat. He really likes to be propped up on my knees and I will just sit there and talk to him. He will just stare at me.....he is easily entertained!! Oh and did I mention the boy LOVES to be naked. You take off his diaper to change him and he just starts kicking and moving like crazy. At least a couple times a day I will take off all his clothes and put a blanket under him and let him go to town. He just kicks and kicks all over the place. So cute.
And I will leave you with this.....Payten drew us a pig the other night all by herself. She doesn't do a very good job erasing what she drew before so it looks a little messy....but hopefully you can see the pig somewhere in there. And doesn't she look cute in her cow p.j.s?

A beautiful day!!

We have had such perfect weather lately. Last Saturday we went to the duck pond to feed the ducks and to get a little exercise. It was the perfect day. We got to walk around the pond and I put Brayden in the Bjorn. He loves that thing! And then after we walked for a while, we took Payten to the park that is across the street. Brayden is finally two months old as of last Wednesday! I can't believe it! He is growing so fast. He weighs 12 pounds and 2 ounces. He is in the 50-75th% in his weight and 90th% in his height. (25 inches long) Brayden typically sleeps from about 10pm to 5am, eats and then goes back to sleep until 8am! I know.....he is awesome! There are a few days here and there where he wants to eat around 3am, but he goes right back to sleep. The only problem I am having right now is his nap time during the day. I will feed him and then keep him up for a while and then I will rock him to sleep. Just when I lay him down....Payten screams or her and the cat get a little roudy....which wakes him up! I don't think she has learned yet to talk quietely. We need to work a little harder on that. I am constantly telling her to lower her voice. I'm sure she is sooo sick of hearing that from me. She is a really good girl though. She loves to help me and she can now clean her room all by herself! She just goes to her room, starts singing the "clean up" song....she lines all her shoes up in her closet, puts her toys in the toy basket and hides all her dirty laundy either under her bed or in the corner behind her pick chair. :) It is too funny!!!!! She is so proud of herself when her room is all clean and we let her know how proud we are of her so she will continue to clean her room. :)

When GG (Grandma Jan) was down, she bought Brayden a cute little hat and he wears it all the time! During the week me and the kids take a walk around the neighborhood and play at the park and he wears his hat to keep the sun away from those eyes. I think he likes his hat!
Brayden loves the Baby Bjorn. I put him in it all the time. I clean house with it on, cook dinner, fold laundry... you name it I can get it done with him in the Bjorn. :) And my little buddy just chills in it. Most the time he stays awake, but occasionally I think the movement puts him right to sleep.
Payten doing what she does best...PLAYING!!!!!! That little woman could play all day and all night. She never wants to leave the park once were there. I have to bribe her with ice cream to come home. :)
Brayden loves bath time...so far. He loves the water and will just lay there the entire time and just talk and smile. Here he is in his lion bath towel. I thought he looked pretty cute!
Brayden is really starting to talk to us. I love his little voice and cute smile. He just eats it up when you talk to him. If you talk to him long enough he will start talking right back......baby talk of course. :) A couple weeks ago, Gymboree had their pj's on sale...so I couldn't pass up these bug pj's. Ever since I have been calling him "my little sugar bug".

Brayden- video of him at 8 weeks

Payten at the Castle "Her favorite hang out spot"

Grandma Jan or "GG", Payten, Brayden and I went to Memorial City Mall yesterday to play. We ate at California Pizza Kitchen which was really yummy and then afterwards we let Payten play at her favorite hang out spot, the castle. She LOVES to play there and always makes lots of friends while she is there. Yesterday she kept coming up to us saying that some boy was hitting her. I kept telling her to just ignore him and play somwhere else. Well later on we saw her poking at him.....which led him to hit her. Why was he hitting her? Hmmmm....let me think about it! :) I usually let her play for around an hour and then we head home. Everytime we are there she plays non stop and I see her running around with at least 2-3 girls. I think if I had to guess the castle would be one of her most favorite things!

Payten loves to pose for the camera. She thinks that she looks super cute when she turns to the side and lowers her head. It makes me soooo mad...... :) I just yell at her and tell her to stand up straight! Quit being goofy, I tell her. If you notice in most of the pictures I take of her she is making some goofy face or standing in a weird position. Silly girl! Hopefully this is just a phase. Okay I still think she looks cute no matter how she stands! :)
