A little CRAZY around here

WOW!!! With two kiddos it is really hard to find time to update the blog....but after a week I am finally getting around to it. It has been a little CRAZY around here.....but a wonderful crazy. After having a few set backs (breastfeeding issues and Matt being sick) everything is going wonderfully. Brayden is such a great baby. I call him my "sweet boy" because that is exactly what he is. He is so calm all the time unless he is hungry. When he is hungry he doesn't like to wait! :) Payten is finally acting her normal self again. She was a little jealous of not having mommy to herself but since things are calming down I can find time for the both of them. Now if Matt and I can find time for us??? The past couple days have been really relaxing. We didn't leave the house one time except for going to Wal-Mart a few minutes ago. We woke up both mornings, ate breakfast and then headed upstairs to watch movies and take naps. We watched Elf, which is really funny...and then today we started Kicking and Screaming.... another Will Ferrell movie. He is a funny man!! Matt and I are starting to realize that with two it is soooo much easier to stay home. I know for me during the week that is what I plan to do. Stay home and enjoy my family. I want to simplify my life as much as possible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will still have to make my Chick-Fil-A run with Amanda and Camden though. :)

Payten loves to push Brayden in his stroller. It is a small stroller so it is the perfect height for her. It does take a little longer getting to where we are going......but it is the highlight of her day pushing him around. She is a proud sissy.
So far Brayden loves the vibrating chair that we had with Payten. It was our life saver with her. The first night we brought Payten home from the hospital it was the only thing that would keep her from screaming. I still remember Matt and I looking at each other around 3am and saying.....what did we do????? We tried everything and finally got the bouncy/vibrating chair and she loved it. We haven't really had to use the chair out of desperation with Brayden, but he likes to sit in it when I am trying to get things done around the house.
Mommy's sweet boy!!!!!!! I just love him so much. It is amazing how you can love two kids exactly the same. I am so blessed beyond words. Having two children is very hard at times, but it is sooooooo worth it.
Brayden sound asleep and all bundled at Payten's preschool Christmas program. The weather is crazy here. One day it is 30 degrees outside and then next day it is 70 degrees. It sure would be nice if it would stay a little on the warmer side. Living in Houston is definitely nice during the winter months. :)
Payten and mommy after her Christmas presentation. She did such a great job.....or should I say she was very entertaining when she was on stage. At first I think she was a little on the scared side. She kept looking around and then she started yawning. Then she started looking around trying to find us in the audience. She was really tired that night. She didn't have a nap that day and the program didn't start until 7pm which is usually the time I put her down for bed time if she doesn't have a nap. Let me just say that night was CRAZY!!!!! I was still getting adjusted to getting myself ready along with two kids now. And having to feed the little guy before leaving. I was a little stressed out!!!!!! But I now know that to get ready and be somewhere on time I need to allow myself at least 3 hours! Seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Mike and Jan for coming to visit us. We had lots of fun!!!!!!!!! Taste of Texas and Willy's was really yummy!!!!!! And Jan I cannot thank you enough for letting me sleep that last night. I am feeling really rested today and I know it was becuase I got a really good nights sleep. We love you guys!!!!!
Thanks Mom and Dad for coming to visit us too!!!! Mom you helped out so much and I couldn't have done it without you. We are excited to eat all the good food we have in our freezer. I don't think I will have to cook much for the next month!!!!!!!!!! :) We love you lots!!!! Thanks for all your help.

Welcome Brayden Matthew!!!!!!!

Welcome Brayden Matthew! He was born December 10th at 11:06a.m. weighing in at eight pounds, 1 ounce and 19 1/2 inches long. Matt and I went in at 6am Wednesday morning and I have to admit labor was a complete different experience with this little guy......fast but painful!!! I got an epidural but it slowly wore off and by the time he was ready to come out I could almost feel everything....but it was sooo worth it. My doctor was running a little late and they told me not to push anymore or he was going to come out. I sat there for about 5 minutes waiting for her to show up. She walked in the delivery room, put on her gown, walked over and basically caught him!!!
I love him soooo much. It's amazing how the second they come out you love them immediately. He is precious and the best Christmas gift ever! Payten is such a wonderful big sister. She has done so well with him. She is very loving and wants to hold him constantly. She tells me and Daddy that we have to share him! She begs to hold him. We set her on the bed with lots of pillows around her and she holds him and just stares at him. I know she is going to be my big helper! We get to leave the hospital in the morning, so I will update more when we get home and situated. Enjoy the pics of our new little guy!!!
This picture makes Matt and I laugh. He is getting his hearing test. The nurse that took the test told us that she gave over 10 hearing tests to new babies and Brayden had the best results. He had l00% perfect hearing. Yaa!!!
Man I look terrible in this picture!!!! I need some face makeup and some blush really bad!!! I wanted to post this picture because you can tell in Payten's eyes how proud she is of her little brother.

Baby Pregler Update

Just came home from my doctor's appt. and I am now 80% effaced and dialated to a 3!!!! She could also feel his little head. She says he is low and ready to go. Praise the Lord! I am soooo excited. My doctor says at this point it could happen anytime. Please pray that I have a quick and easy labor. We are all soooo excited to meet this little miracle! :) Oh, and one more thing.....pray that Matt and I can come up with a name! It has been a joke between us, but it isn't too funny anymore. We are running out of time to name this little guy and at this point we need some ideas.....so please if you have any good boy names please text me or leave a message on the blog! :)

Thanksgiving 2008 and the Start of Christmas

My little princess standing in front of the Christmas tree before we headed to church. It is really nice right now because for some reason she likes taking pictures. I think I have taken sooo many over the course of her life that she is used to it by now. :) Below are a lot of pictures from the past couple weeks. My computer has been really slow and we finally got it back working tonight. I figured I should update the blog because I have a feeling the second addition to our family will be coming really soon! Last Monday when I went to the doctor my cervix was 50% effaced and I was dialated to a 2. I go the the doctor again tomorrow so hopefully I will hear some good news.

Payten loves her new cupcake dress. She has to like her clothes or there is NO way she will put it on....unless I put my foot down and let her know that I am the boss and she is going to wear what I tell her to wear until she is 18 years old. haha Anyway...funny story. Last week Payten was eating a cookie or something sweet that I had made and as she finished she stood up in her chair, rubbed her belly and said, "delicious" with a huge smile on her face. I cracked up laughing. She says the funniest things.
Where is Payten??? I don't know...but I think I might have a pretty good guess!!!
There she is! And of course she has the cat trapped in there with her. The whole time Matt and I are decorating the tree she wants her and the cat in the box. You can tell that Nala wasn't so thrilled about the whole locked in a tiny space with a crazy three year old thing! haha
Thanksgiving was really fun this year! We had three couple friends over around noon for lunch and the guys played Wii afterwards while the girls sat around the desserts and talked about babies and all that fun stuff. It was a stressful morning for me trying to cook everything and keep the house picked up but was well worth it. I was pretty nervous b/c I have never cooked a turkey, made homemade dressing or homemade rolls. I must say it all turned out really yummy! That night we took Payten to the movies with Brad, Erin, Charli and Avery. She LOVED it! We took the kids to see the Disney movie, Bolt. (About a dog) We got home around 9pm and she crashed. She was worn out from playing ALL day long. It was a wonderful day spent with great friends.
Kitty Nala cannot control herself and stay out of the babies bed. I haven't washed the sheet yet because I know the second I wash it and make the bed she will jump up and get her furr all over everything. She has decided that the babies bed is her favorite place to take a nap. She still sleeps with us every night but during the day you will always find her fast alsleep keeping the babies bed nice and warm. Poor Nala doesn't realize that in 1.5 weeks this will no longer be happening. :)
Payten, Charlie and Avery pretending that they are eating ice cream cones.......which are made out of Play Dough. The girls played non stop and the house was a complete disaster at the end of the day. They destroyed every room in the house. Thank heavens Erin and the guys helped pick everything up.
Here are the girls pretending to be babies. Erin and I couldn't find them and found them in the babies room. We walked in and they were saying, "ga ga goo goo". They were pretty cute!
Here is Payten the morning of her first school Thanksgiving Party. She was extremely excited because Mommy and Daddy were both coming to her party. The party didn't start until 11am so I went and dropped her off like I usually do every Tuesday and Thursday. She found her teacher and said, "Miss Gaynel, guess what? She said my Daddy is coming to my party!" She was so excited to let her teacher know that her Daddy was coming. When Matt and I walked in the room later on she came running and screaming over to us. It made her so happy that we were there. It is so precious that she loves us that much! :)
Here is Payten's best friend, Claire. They love each other and it shows. Payten's teacher says that they are inseperable for most of the day. Whenever it's reading time on the big rug she says you will always find them together.
Payten's Thanksgiving wreath she made at school. Each hand reads what she is thankful for. She is thankful for hearts, baby dolls, butterflies and her blankets. The things that are special to a three year old. :)
This cracks me up!!!!!!! I was in tears when I read this. (Funny tears) She made this place mat at school and if you read this you will know that she really did say all this. A couple weeks ago our good friends had a little girl named Perri. Well Payten is obsessed with the name Perri. She names everything Perri.....her dolls, the cat, and she says she is having a sister named Perri. Anyway this placemat is so dear to my heart!!! She is such a funny girl with a huge imagination.
Payten thought she was a really big girl thie other night after her bath because she got to wear her towel just like mommy does. She enjoyed looking at herself in the mirror. :)
