Payten's Ballet/Tap Class

Payten started ballet/tap school in February. She really likes it and is doing very well. Her recital is coming up in May and mommy is so excited about it. We just got their outfits this past week and they are sooooo pretty! Her favorite part of the class is when she gets to put her tap shoes on and tap. At the beginning of the class they get into a circle and do some kind of flower thing and she says that that is her favorite too. All the parents are outside of the room looking in through a glass wall so we can't hear anything that is going on.....we can just see them. She has been practicing her two routines for her recital. She knows the routines pretty well....She is pretty funny to watch. I am really impressed with her dance studio. It has been fun and I hope she wants to do it again in the fall. :)

Sweet Kids (Feb 2011 pics)

One day for nap time the kids talked me into them both lying in Payten's bed and they promised they would read books quietly and then fall asleep. YA RIGHT!!!!!!!!!! :) They were soooo sweet to each other so I couldn't pass up getting my camera out and taking a few pics. Payten was such a good big sister. She read him a book and he layed there and listened to her. They are the best of friends! This picture above Brayden was giving Payten a kiss. After about 15 minutes I made an executive decision and put Brayden into his own bed. They weren't very happy about it but nap time was much more
quiet after they were seperated. Payten asks all the time if Brayden can lay with her during nap/quiet time...so I told her maybe in another 6 months or so we would try again and see if they could actually be in the same room together  resting and not playing!

Payten has had The Rhyming Bible since she was a little baby. She loves to listen to stories about Jesus. I think we have read it a couple times through now. Her favorite story that she loves to read is Jonah and the Whale. She loves how he got swallowed by a huge whale. She loves to look at all the pictures. Below you can see that she found the picture of Jesus on the cross. She always looks concerned when she sees that picture.

And here she sees that Jesus is Alive and she isn't concerned anymore. :) In the past 6 months she has really started to ask questions about Jesus. I love that she shows interest.... The other day in the car she wanted me to tell her about Adam and Eve and she asked why Eve ate the apple. So I explained to her what happened.....She is learning so much in her Sunday School class. I can really tell. I am so happy t hat she loves Jesus already at age 5. The bible says to teach then while they are young and they will never depart from the truth. So I know that I need to teach the kids as much as I can about Jesus and loving Him......not only teach them but show them through my life.

And here is Brayden showing me the fish in the book. Of course.....fish are his FAVORITE!!!

And here they had just promised me they were going to go to sleep. I think it lasted maybe 3 minutes.  Funny kids!

One night after bath time both kids climbed into daddy's lap for some snuggle time. SOOOO precious! Matt was pretty happy here. :)

The kids take a bath together every night and bath time equals FUN time!!!! Sometimes we take quick baths and then sometimes I let them play for a while. They have a blast together! After this bath time there was water everywhere! They got a little too wild, but it is fun every now and then.

Brayden loves to be Mr. Independent and brush his own teeth. He likes to climb the counter and do everything by himself. He actually does a pretty good job brushing his own teeth, but sometimes mommy does it for him and he HATES it. I have to get on top of him, hold his arms and feet with my legs and brush as fast as I can. He screams, I do it.....I do it! It's sad but it has to be done!

Sissy brushing her teeth..... She loves to  brush her teeth and gargle with Scope. She sees Matt and I gargle so she wants to do it too.

It's bed time and she stills has her tap shoes on. The first week of dance  she begged me to let her wear her tap shoes around the house. She loved to hear the tap sound against the tile. Anyway, thought this picture was pretty cute. :)
