| Our baby baby girl started kindergarden a few weeks ago...August 23rd to be exact. She is going to an amazing private christian school and we ADORE her teacher and her entire school. She is just doing great, learning so much and making great friends. I know in my heart that she is exactly where God wants her. Her first day of school went awesome. I was so sad to leave her but knew that she was going to have so much fun. She LOVES school. She goes from 8:30am to 3:30pm. When I picked her up after her first day she got in the car and wouldn't stop talking. Her first words were, "mom, school is awesome!" WOW! That made me so happy to hear that she loved her first day! She talked about what she did, her new friends and what she did on the play ground! :) Two of her friends in her kinder class this year were also in her preschool class last year so it was great that she already knew two kids. Her BFF Brooke that she was good friends with in Katy, Texas just moved here and she is in the class next door. Brooke and Payten eat lunch together every day and play on the play ground together. Payten always give me the scoop when she gets in the car. She tells me about how her and Brooke chased all the boys on the playground. Uh oh...should I be worried!! Already chasing boys! :) She tells me that she can run faster than all the boys because her new shoes make her faster! haha Okay anyway....she is reading so good and it's only been 1 month of school. She is already doing addition and subtraction, problem solving, lots and lots of reading and writing and memorizing poems. She has a poem every month that she has to memorize at home and then she has to tell it to the class. Her first poem she read to the class last week was "whistles"...It was super cute! She did perfect! And memorized it super fast! Payten only goes to school on Tue/Thur/Fri. On Mondays and Wednesdays I home school her at home with me! I LOVE LOVE it. I feel like I get to be involved in what she is learning and doing at school. The teacher does all the planning....I just have to complete all the assignments with Pay on the days she is home with me. Also on Mondays and Wednesdays I try to do fun things with the kids. I typically make some pancakes and then we play outside a lot and take a walk or have play dates with friends. I was getting Payten to sleep last night and we were just talking and I asked her how much she liked school and she said she loves school! I am so excited about this year! It is so wonderful to know that Payten is at a school that is christian based. She is surrounded by amazing christian teachers and nice well mannered children that come from nice families.....to me that gives me such peace of mind when she is at school! =) I have posted lots of pics from her very first day but I couldn't just choose a couple! We are looking forward to a GREAT year! |
